Munch Machine Is Coming to Our Clubhouse This Summer
The Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools runs a mobile food program called the Munch Machine, a food pantry on wheels that brings weekly supplies directly to kids across Billings during the summer months. This summer, our Clubhouse is one of their stops.
In Billings, 7,000 students rely on free and reduced school meals for their daytime nutrition. When school lets out, that safety net disappears. For many of the children we serve, summer is a stretch of weeks when reliable food becomes a real question.
The Munch Machine exists to fill that gap. Run by the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools, the program brings fresh produce, shelf-stable foods, Backpack meal kits, books, and hygiene items directly to registered kids in their neighborhoods. No trips across town. No complicated sign-up process. The bus comes to them.
This summer, it's coming to ours.
We've worked to build this partnership over the past year, and we're glad to see it take shape. The Munch Machine pulling up to 2613 Virginia Lane means our kids can count on something consistent, even when school isn't in session — which is exactly the kind of support this work is built around.
We're grateful to the donors and community members in Billings who make the Munch Machine possible. Many of you already invest in the children of Yellowstone County through multiple channels, and that generosity shows up in real ways like a bus full of groceries on a summer afternoon.
"You have no idea how much I appreciate you all and this wonderful program. My girl loves everything that she gets to do with you. Thank you all so much for bringing her out of her comfort zone to try new things all by herself. Her self confidence has improved beyond my expectations." - A Friends — Eastern Montana Caregiver
That kind of growth doesn't happen in isolation. It happens because of consistent support across every part of a child's life during the school year and through the summer. The Munch Machine is one more piece of that.
We'll have more to share as the summer goes on. In the meantime, if you'd like to help us keep showing up for the 50 children in our program, through the summer and for the 12+ years ahead, we'd love your support.
