BOARD: Dan Aune

Dan’s portfolio includes behavioral health and healthcare capacity building, Tribal engagement with family preservation models, and development of sustainable financing practice strategies for community-based integrated primary and behavioral health projects in over 15 states and 30 Tribal nations. He is President of Aune Associates Consulting which offers technical assistance in the behavioral health space building sustainable integrated primary and behavioral healthcare delivery systems.

Mr. Aune also provides consultation to Critical Access Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and Urban Indian Health Centers to develop service lines that include behavioral health with the goal of an integrated primary and behavioral health service model utilizing recovery-oriented services. The firm has led the country in development of culturally resonant Native American/Alaska Native children and family mental health delivery systems utilizing a blended financing strategy to bring healthcare as an economic engine in Tribal communities.

Mr. Aune received his dual Bachelors of Sociology and Social Work degree from Montana State University and his Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. Dan and his wife Shellie reside in Billings. They have four children, six grandchildren, and enjoy home fix-ups, cooking, fishing, and spending time with their family who reside in MT and MD.
